Y’all, it’s that time of year! The days are getting noticeably shorter. My iced coffees are giving way to hot ones. I’ve been watching the trees starting to take on shades of orange and red, and this morning that unmistakable crispness was in the air.
Summer is definitely turning to fall where I live, and you know what that means: It’s time to start revisiting some beloved fall lippies!
But there’s still some summer left to enjoy, so I’m not ready to dive into my rich fall colours just yet. I wanted something subtle to mark the transition between seasons, not unlike your most trusty transitional shade of eyeshadow. Something with just a hint of warm and cozy, something nostalgic.
Today’s lippy is an absolute classic, friends: MAC Matte Lipstick in Velvet Teddy!
Described as a deep-tone beige, it pulls just a hint orange-y on me, making it a really lovely summer-to-fall colour on my fair complexion, bringing just the right amount of warmth and depth with its shade and soft matte finish to announce the change of season without being so bold as to scream “we are in mid-autumn and I’m already seeing reindeer”. (Sorry, too soon!)
Yup – Velvet Teddy, a light-knit sweater, and a big warm mug of coffee are my accessories of choice today.
